Ryder Court Park — San Mateo
A smaller park with a group picnic area, a splash pad, playground, sandbox, and shoreline views.
This little park just along the shore is a perfect pit stop if you're taking a bike ride on the Bay Trail. If biking is not your thing then there’s a decent size parking lot too. There is a grassy area and picnic spots (a huge group picnic spot under a really neat awning plus individual tables around the grass). The park has a splash pad but it was not on when we were there and according to the city it will remain off due to the drought until further notice. Between the structure and splash pad is a giant climbing dome with a rope web inside perfect for the adventurous climber. More extras include a large spinning disc (tilted and big enough for an adult to lay on, have kids spin you and feel the need to get off as soon as possible), seated circle-shaped spinners, a sandbox with a big cement snail and crab (decorative but also good for climbing), rocking ride on toys and a swing sets (bucket and standard in different spaces).
The structure has a slide, steps, various rope climbing activities (including a rope bridge and a rope wall), monkey bars and a hammock.
Even if you are not biking the trail it is worth a walk to the shoreline to see the beautiful views of the bridge and the city.
There are bathrooms and community bike repair tools (so cool!)
