Treasure Island Playground — Treasure Island San Francisco
I’m not sure why but Treasure Island has always felt like a mystery to me. I had never been but I've driven through countless times (as we all have on our way to and from the city). When I saw there are two playgrounds on Treasure Island, I knew it was time to give it a go.
The “red playground” on Treasure Island is located on the corner of Avenue E and 13th St. It is completely gated. There is a slide (accessible by ladder only), climbing arch, rope arch, suspended lily pads, spinning cups, rope arch with tunnel panels, curved rope bridge, and wobbly platforms. It gives off obstacle course vibes for sure.
The swing set has bucket and standard swings. All play areas have soft rubber flooring, but between there is sand. The picnic benches and sitting benches are in the sand. Strollers are still an option since the sand isn’t loose.
There is a huge field right beside the playground. We didn’t attempt to go in the gate but there appeared to be locked.
We were pretty lucky as far as our timing to this playground. You may notice it. There was a huge fire truck parked right outside the gate. The kids were stoked.
Just across the road is a cafe that looked yummy but not too kid-friendly.
No shade
No bathrooms
Street parking (pull in and parallel)
