Cherryland Park — Hayward
Cherryland Park is a fun neighborhood park with a playground, skate park, horseshoe pits and, plenty of grass.
A fun park with an older play structure including four metal slides (all straight) and five entry points (stairs and four variations of a ladder). Multi-levels mean lots of little steps throughout. The structure also includes fun activities to play with but I believe the “racecourse” one is broken. There’s also a balance beam and a climbing wall. The Lilly pad jump was broken when we went, but I’m sure it’s been repaired since.
The park also includes three picnic areas that are all very spread apart from each other and each has its own charcoal BBQ. Other extras at this park include a basketball court, horseshoe pits, and a skate park. While there is a cement sidewalk at the front end of the park near the playground, it turns to small gravel in the back.
There are bathrooms that are unlocked but there is a sign that says “closed due to vandalism”.
Street parking is easy and the gate (although no actual closure to the road) is comforting enough to let kiddos run around. This seems to be a popular spot for people to walk their dogs and while most were on leash, some were not.
