Frank Fisher Park — Fremont

Two playgrounds and a big grassy area await at Frank Fisher Park!

If you're looking to add outside play to a fun-filled day in Fremont, add this to the list! It's very close to Mod Kids Co and Ardenwood Farms. It's a community park right up next to an elementary. When I say right up next to I’m not exaggerating.... there isn’t a fence. Rare to see open campuses like this around here. I talked to locals and school staff about it & my kids even tried to play on the “on-campus” playground until they were approached by the recess patrol like seagulls to a bag of Cheetos. They have it under control but definitely odd to see an open Elementary School campus so close to a public park.

The park itself had a huge grassy area with a backstop in one corner, tennis courts & two playgrounds. There were lots of dog walkers and they must be all on a leash near people but can go off-leash deep into the grassy area. The larger of the two playgrounds has SIX slides (three spiral, two sidewinders, & one sideless slide ... maybe it’s kinda like those bottomless slides but just nothing to keep you in). You’ll also find steps, so many ladders, a climbing wall, monkey bars & rings, a puppet theatre window, steering wheels, bridges, & a spinning oval bar. In this play area, there are standard swings only, a few spinning cups, & a rotating suspended circular bar.

Down the sidewalk is a smaller playground modeled after a train!  It has three slides (one sidewinder, one straight, one double), ladders, steps, lily pads, tunnels, a bridge, & a gear activity. There are buckets swings at this playground. One feature I would have never paid any attention to without my kids doing it themselves was the different color circles on the rubber flooring. They enjoyed hopping from spot to spot.
There are no bathrooms but street parking is abundant.
