Garin Regional Park — Hayward

Take a trip back in time to the farm land of Hayward and see old tractors, a pond, cattle, a barn, and more at Garin Regional Park!

The first time I tried to go here I did not end up here but instead on the way other side of the park at the Ziele Creek Entrance. If you GPS your way to Garin, make sure you go to the entrance on Garin Ave.

This park has lots of trails for exploring, a pond, a bunch of old farming equipment, lots of different animals (including cows!), a kite field (with some pretty advanced kite fliers so that’s always fun entertainment), picnic areas, a large grass field, and the biggest hill ever that I have yet to attempt. It is rich in Hayward area farming history and I can’t wait to explore the visitors center once it opens again. I particularly love walking through the oak tree grove from the parking area to the pond.

We love that every time we come here there’s something new to see.

There is usually a parking fee but only when the booth is attended. There are open bathrooms. Keep an eye out for the payphone and bring coins to show the kids something they’ve probably never seen before.
