Haymont Park — Hayward

A great little hidden park in Hayward. Seriously, so hidden I didn’t know about it because there was nothing about it on Google maps.

This park is tucked in a corner behind the old KMart, next to the train tracks, where Luvena Dr and Colette St meet. There are some very big trees that perfectly cover the small patch of grass (with some sort of wild berry…we didn’t try and I don’t suggest you do either ).

There’s a structure, a swing set (standard only), a basketball court, and a very run-down horseshoe pit.

The structure has two slides (short and long), steps, ladders, a firefighter sliding pole, and monkey bars. The taller slide is only accessible by the monkey bars or two different style ladders.

Although it is near train tracks, we loved how quiet this park felt and how much shade the big older trees gave us.
