Hayward Regional Shoreline (end of Grant) — San Lorenzo

The “whales shoreline” aka Hayward Shoreline at the end of Grant is the perfect spot for a refreshing walk with views

This little spot has a decent asphalt trail and a small parking lot. When you get to the shore there’s a bridge you can cross to go off road “esplorin” or you if you choose to not cross the bridge and go left you’ll be on the Bay Trail. This trail meets up with the whales painting found on one of the Oro Loma Sanitary buildings. Keep walking and you’ll get to another one of my favorite non playground spots... but by walk I mean waaaalllllkkkk. I haven’t done it. It’s far. Best to drive to the other spot for another days adventure.

On a clear day you will get a beautiful view of the city

Keep an eye out for the overhead power lines, cactus, ducks, willet, black necked slit, snowy egret. Lots to see here
