Meek Park — Hayward

Meek Estate Park in Hayward is vast and great fun for the whole family.

So much open space! A lot of paths for bike riding/scooting. A decently sized (and spaced out) play area with three play structures. A fountain! A rose garden! A big mansion! A gazebo! Old farm equipment! Covered picnic area with many tables and a giant grill! Seriously what’s not to love?! With a parking lot and a bathroom it seriously has it all!

The biggest play structure is three stories tall. There’s a spiral staircase to the lookout tower, a spiral slide, a short wide slide, a bridge, learning activities, various ladders, monkey bars, and monkey rings that lead to the smaller part of this structure. The smaller part has two slides (a sidewinder and a tube slide). There are also steps for this part of the structure.

In the same area there are two other stand-alone play structures with slides, steps, ladders, and learning activities. (One of the structures has only a ladder as access).

In a separate section, there is a swing set with standard and bucket swings plus a tire swing. It's a bit too far for comfort to have one kid at the playground and one on the swings.

The mansion is so beautiful! There are flowers all around and a huge cactus. It is open for self-guided tours of the first floor on the first Saturday of the month from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.

Down the block is a newly completed community center.

Such a beautiful place for a park day and many opportunities for photo ops around the grounds.
