Point San Pablo Harbor — Richmond
Escape the rush of the city and enter into the hidden world of art, houseboats, animals, and amazing views in Point San Pablo Harbor.
What a great place to visit! This marina and small community of houseboats and floating homes have so much to see including farm animals (chickens and goats), wild animals (deer, birds, and endangered saltwater harvest mice), interactive art, old anchors and tractor claws, succulent gardens, “tide pools” (quotes cus they are not really tide pools but you can pretend), smooth as glass water, tractors, murals, a vegetable garden, and a GIANT ALLIGATOR! From the Harbor, you can see panoramic views of the undeveloped coastlines of Napa, Sonoma, and Solano and Marin counties.
There are public bathrooms and a restaurant (rumor has it, it's delicious!). They are known to host live music in the evenings (see website for COVID updates). This can be a really happening spot during one of these live music events. If you want that scene, great. If you don't, be sure to go early in the morning.
While this is an area of residence, there is much for the visitor to do but watch out for signs that say "residents only". Those are off-limits (usually the slits down to the homes).
When you GPS your way here make sure you put Point San Pablo Harbor and not Point San Pablo or you’ll end up on the other side of the point. Also, it’s the last exit before the Richmond Bridge so don’t miss it or you’ll be on a whole other adventure
Tip: look for the black stars in white paper on posts along the road leading up!
