Washington Park — Alameda
If you love a little playground/beach combo you have to try a Washington Park Alameda.
If you love a little playground/beach combo you have to try a Washington Park Alameda. The park borders, Robert Crown Beach, and is very close to Crab Cove. This is a big one so be sure you are ready to explore! Bikes/scooters could be a fun addition because of all the sidewalks however this is a multi level park so expect stairs or uphill biking.
The playground features two structures. The taller structure has three slides (spiral, bumpy, and sidewinder), steps, ladders, and monkey bars. The shorter structure has three slides (spiral, double, and sidewinder), steps, and an inclined climbing ramp. There are two sets of swings - one standard and one bucket swing, although they are not located right next to each other. Additionally, there is a sandbox with a covered playhouse.
Near the playground, there is a nicely shaded picnic area, perfect for parties. Separately, there is another standalone swing set with standard swings. Washington Park also offers tennis courts, baseball and softball fields, basketball courts, a dog park, exercise equipment, horseshoe pits, plenty of grassy areas, scattered picnic tables, and convenient access to Crab Cove, including the Crab Cove duck pond.
There is a parking lot on 8th Street, but parking on the street might bring you closer to the playground. Restrooms are available near the playground.
