Always Dream PlayPark — Fremont
One of four parks around Lake Elizabeth, Always Dream Park is a great space for toddlers and preschools to explore.
Funded by @kristiyamaguchi, Always Dream Park was opened in 2010 with the goal of having more inclusive play for all abilities. Parks have really made huge advances in the last 11 years offering far more inclusion opportunities but this park still has some elements to allow all abilities to have fun.
There is a huge sandbox (it’s sunken so will require a step-down or lifting in if needed), a big merry go round with climbing net tower, swings (bucket on one set and standard and chair on the other), spinning cups, big hill mounds for running up and down or sliding on cardboard, an extensive ramp (assuming to make it ADA approved) to the one sidewinder slide. At the top of the ramp, there is still a ledge that needs a step up or lift to actually get on the slide. Under the ramp is a small low tunnel. Near the sandbox, there are some metal drums and a sort of small amphitheater.
There are big trees around but not within the park thus the big umbrellas are placed throughout.
There is a group picnic spot a little ways away from the play area and bathrooms nearby.
There is a parking lot with pull-in spaces.
All-abilities playgrounds have come a long way which makes me really struggles to call this an all-abilities playground, but it is a great play area for younger kids. Based on our visit, it seems like a popular spot for moms and nannies.
