San Pablo Park — Berkeley

This fun community park offers basketball, baseball, tennis, community center, two playgrounds and lots and lots of space for play!

The larger play area geared more towards older kids has an expansive play structure with two slides (spiral and straight), steps, ladders, climbing walls, traditional bridges, rope bridges, suspended lillypads, hiding nooks, and a variety of climbing obstacles. Next to the play structure is a huge rope climbing ladder that leads to a birds nest enclosed space (I always wanted a really tall tree house as a kid and this felt like my dream). Choose to climb down the rope ladders or slide down the long metal tunnel slide. Close by is a spinning cage, four person teeter totter, swings (two big kids, one over the shoulder all abilities swing. Third style swing pictured is no longer at the park).

Within eyeshot of the bigger kid playground is the gated toddler friendly play area. The structure has two slides (wide and straight), steps, ladders, an angled rock wall, bridge, educational play, and more. There’s a small play house and train both with imaginative play opportunities and more chances to climb or crawl! There are mallet instruments including a rainbow xylophone 🤩and a sandbox with small boulder in this toddler play area.

The amount of benches around this park is incredible and how they look like flowers is just * chefs kiss *

While there isn’t much shade on the actual play areas beyond the included small roofs, there are huge trees all around and lots of grass for a blanket break.

The play areas are both located on the South side of the park off of Russell and Park St. Street parking is available but look out for street sweeping signs.

Bathrooms are located beyond the community center near the basketball courts.

With so many options for kids young and old, San Pablo Park will keep you busy for hours.
